The village of Biert is in the heart of the Pyreneen mountains of South West France, in the Department of Ariège, close to the Spanish border.
The Ariège, and in particular the mountain valleys of the Couserans, is relatively undeveloped, and in many ways life goes on here just as it has done for centuries.
Situated at 600 metres, Biert itself is a traditional mountain village in the Arac valley, between St Girons and Massat, and offers both summer and winter activity holidays with many local places of interest to visit.
